Go Speedracer, GO!

Is it worth it to drive a 20-mile trip at 60 mi/hr instead of 55 mi/hr?

What about the possibility of a speeding ticket?

Can you generalize the problem, i.e. the average speed is increased from 55 mi/hr to (55+x) mi/hr?

What would that look like in general? The change in time for unit increase in rate for a fixed distance d.
