Controlling for a Variable

"Controlling for a variable" is the process of matching your treatment group and your control group and allowing only one variable to change so you can ascribe any changes in outcome to that difference.

In a Case-Control study, you are looking to find two existing groups that differ in the same way.

With that in mind, discuss this study.
