Always-on and constant notifications
TheRegister had this headline:
"This always-on culture we're in is awful. How do we stop it? Oh, sorry, hold on – just had another notification
Turn off. Tune out. Relax."
Do schools need to mandate that students disconnect; turn off all notifications; put away the phone; lock away the phone?
Can schools do this?
Is it legal; is it ethical?
On the other side of the fence ...
Should teachers be allowed to connect with students outside of school hours?
Can they mandate that you must spend 30 minutes each night, or should they allow students to group assignments and hand them all in on a particular day?
